"What are you going to do with that?" This is the question I've heard a million times! Even people that know me well still ask it, then answer their own question: "Oh yeah, you're going to sell it!" That's right! I've been buying and selling motorized stuff since I was 13 and I wouldn't have it any other way!

The Big Question: If you could change anything in your life, what would it be? This is the question I have asked thousands of people from virtually all walks of life: rich and poor, spirtual and not. The reply I hear most often? I would like to have spent more time with my family! Having made this my priority years ago, I've tried to pattern a life that fits me to a tee! My wife and I have been together for over 30 years. She does the books and handles stuff inside (which I don't take lightly). I buy and sell, and take care of the stuff outside. Dawson, our 14 year old son, keeps a smile on our faces! This all happens right in our own house. We do have several storage facilities for our inventory, but we actually work together in our home! Having been born in 1962 and raised in Davenport, Iowa, Debra and I have one comment about the state: "It's a great place to be from!" We completely enjoy living and working in Florida now.

The only times you won't find me home on a regular basis are Sunday mornings (for obvious reasons) and during Mecum Auctions around the country. The closest thing to a normal workplace I have! We've gotten to know most all the people that work there and count them all partially responsible for our success in business. Speaking of responsiblity, we have chosen to be responsible first to our creator, God! We try to apply the general principals of the scriptures in all that we do, the key word being "try". If anything is to be done, we believe it should be in keeping with this concept.

Now that I am 50 years old, it scares me to see a 6 year old and think THIS is the age my Dad put me on a riding mower? Then at 10 years old, a pickup truck? Then, would you believe at 14, a Semi? Everyone knew it was bad when I bought a fixer upper at 18, a 1975 European Ford Pantera! Safe to say we have really enjoyed growing up in this generation, our day to day experiences have rewarded us with many great friends and moments with them! Here at Scott Ales, we believe this (our business) is a people business, We don't buy and sell stuff, we manage relationships! We'll look forward to adding you to our list!
